Striped Mullet

Striped Mullet

Other Names: Jumping Mullet, Mugil Cephalus

Great bait used whole both alive or dead, great used as cut bait.

Food Value: Excellent

How to Catch: A cast net is by far the best bet for catching striped mullet. You may also use rod and reel, many prefer a cane pole. Striped mullet are algae feeders but will sometimes mouth baits, so you have to have a keen eye to watch your float. The slightest movement of your cork is a good indication a mullet is mouthing.

Most all large game fish will feed on Striped Mullet including: Tarpon, Snook, Cobia, Sharks of all species, Redfish, large snapper, grouper etc...
